Looks like we just went through the most exciting week of the quarter with loads of money being pumped into startups, a big bang acquisition and some smaller ones. There were around 13 reported funding and M&A related activities this week. Software R&D service provider GlobalLogic was acquired by private equity firm Apax Partners for $420 mn. E-commerce company Flipkart raised another $160 mn adding to the $200 mn it raised in in July. Steve Wozniak backed low powered bluetooth device Gecko, successfully raised $50,000 through crowd funding platform Indiegogo.
The week also saw the announcement of launch date for Apple iPhone 5S and 5C in India and also Google started the pre-order for its new Chromebook series through Flipkart.
