Chinese Smartphone brand Gionee has just launched the Elife S5.5, the world’s ‘slimmest’ phone in India. The Elife S5.5 will be priced at Rs 22,999 in the Indian market. The phones will be in stores on April 27th.
The phone, first introduced at the Mobile World Congress- Barcelona, is 5.5 mm thick and weighs 130 grams. The phone runs on a 1.7GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and a Mali 450- MP4 Graphic processor.
It’s got two cameras (front- 5MP and back 13MP) and a 5-inch Full HD Super Amoled display with Gorilla Glass. The 3G phone is backed by a 2300 mAh battery and comes in Black, Blue, Pink, Purple and White colors.

Gionee is not the only brand which has positioned its smartphone as the ‘thinnest phone,’ in the market earlier. Lenovo recently launched Vibe X (6.9 mm), billed as one of the thinnest phones in the world. The Vivo X3 (5.75 mm), another Chinese brand; The Huawei Ascend P6 (6.1 mm); and a few others have launched thin phones.
