The amount of funding was not disclosed.
GoCoop is a platform comprising of a directory service, a microsite service for trade enquiries, and an ecommerce service with both branded e-stores and a marketplace. It enables co-ops to collaborate by creating commerce networks to connect with suppliers, complementary coops and wholesale buyers, the company said.
“We aim to do for co-ops what Alibaba did for manufacturers in China,” said Siva Devireddy, Founder and CEO, GoCoop.
There are more than 600,000 co-operatives in India with over 240 mn members, mostly in rural areas. A similar starutp called ConnectFarmer operates in Karnataka, connecting small farmers with buyers in the city.
