Goldman Sachs has invested Rs 441 crore and acquired a minority stake in SAMHI Hotels, a hotel asset startup that specialises in development, acquisition and ownership of branded hotels.

Founded in 2011, SAMHI Hotels plan to use the funds to expand growth and make acquisitions. The startup currently own 16 hotels and has partnered with hotels such as Marriott, Starwood Hotels, AccorHotels and Hyatt.

SAMHI plans to open 10 properties in next 12-18 months and deploy Rs 1,900 crore in operational and under-construction projects in the country by end of 2016.
