Google expands client-side encryption for Gmail users

  • Google enables client-side encryption (CSE) for more users after rolling it out for Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Meet last year.
  • The CSE beta for Gmail and Calendar is now available for organizations on a Google Workspace Enterprise Plus, Education Plus, or Education Standard plan.
  • This option is not yet available for personal Workspace plans or Google accounts.
