Google Complied to 50% Content Removal Requests from Indian Government

Google earlier launched a tool to showcase governments that have sent requests to remove the content from Google’s search service or products and the company has now updated the tool with latest data.

India made 1061 data requests from July 2009 to December 2009; and the number has increased to 1430, between January – June, 2010 timeframe.

In total, Google complied with 53.3% of removal requests (partially or fully)

– 30 removal requests, for a total of 125 items
