Google Paid Apple $1 Billion to Keep it the Default Search Engine on iPhone

A transcript of court proceedings from a lawsuit against Google has revealed that the company paid tech rival Apple $1bn in 2014 to keep its search engine the default option on iOS. The alleged agreement involves it paying Apple a percentage of revenue that the search engine generates through iOS devices.
