Google revealed plans of introducing family-focused features in the Play Store back at I/O 2015 and has introduced a new section labeled ‘New Family Fun’.
Under this, there’s a ‘Family’ app category that includes apps that have been approved by a hand-picked selection process to be appropriate for kids of varying ages.
The move is aimed at making it easier for parents to find and install apps for their kids and be comfortable that the content will be age appropriate.
On the top sections include apps that are only on Google Play, new and popular apps and a ‘Spotlight on Disney’ section that sorts apps by character.
The new section was first spotted only on the web, but since, a few Android users too have begun seeing the ‘Family’ category on the Play Store app.
