Google Intros New Age-Based Rating System For Apps On Its Play Store

Google has announced that it is adopting a new global age-based system for rating apps in its Play Store, helping users (or their parents) make informed choices about their purchases.
Developers will have to fill out a questionnaire for each of their apps to quickly get a recommended rating, which will be based on the local customs of various regions.
The whole system is automated and free to developers, and Google says users all over the world will begin to see the location specific ratings in the coming weeks.
Further, developers will be able to better target the right audiences for their games and apps through the change in the ratings procedure, boosting engagement.
Google mentions that if developers fail to complete the new rating questionnaire, their apps will be marked as ‘unrated’ and might be blocked in certain locations and for certain users.
