Well, not so good news for Samsung. The company had recently rolled out a feature for its mobile web browser, a new content blocker extension API which allows third-party developers to build mobile apps and allows Samsung users to block ads and other content that can slow down web pages.
This did not go down well with Google and the standalone apps for ad blockers which were published by the developers on Google Play store have been pulled down and their updates too are being declined. Clearly, Google is not in support with Samsung on this as the feature will clearly hurt Google’s ad business too.
Adblock Fast, which was one of the earliest apps and had topped the category in the Play store, have been banned by Google. The other few apps including Crystal and Adblock Plus are live but have been declined updates.
