Google India now stares at a tax demand on Rs 1,457 crore — the total amount that it had remitted to Google Ireland during the period under review. The key element of the relationship between Google India and Google Ireland is the ‘Adwords’ programme (via).

Facebook India Revenue / Profit.

Facebook India has increased its revenue by 93% to Rs 341.8 crore; and the profit has increased from Rs. 31 crores to Rs. 40 crores.

Facebook India: : Growing, But…

India has the highest number of Facebook users, but revenues are minuscule compared to the global market – a reflection of India’s digital economy spend and low cpm/cpc.

Google is 21X of Facebook and continues to grow (while FB has leadership issues in India – Umang Bedi quit within a year of joining).

The above numbers do not take into account the transfer pricing part, but Facebook is piloting new initiatives to increase India revenue. Slowly, the company is getting into transaction play with the launch of marketplace/local search services.
India’s advertising market is close to $9.5 billion in size and like the other markets, there is a clear duopoly between FB and Goog.
