Google’s Nearby Share enables data sharing with sleeping Android devices

  • Google’s Nearby Share, the Android equivalent to Apple’s AirDrop, now allows file sharing with sleeping Android devices.
  • This feature works when both sending and receiving devices are logged into the same Google account.
  • Demonstrations have shown that a device, locked and with screen-off, appeared on the Nearby Share list when logged into the same Google account as the primary device.
