Breaking: Government Withdraws The Draft National Encryption Policy

After a huge protest, government has withdrawn the draft national encryption policy, which aimed at “enabling information security environment and secure transactions in cyberspace for individuals, businesses and government including nationally critical information systems and networks.”

The policy mandated business, citizens including Government personnel to store their corresponding encrypted information in plain text for 90 days. This is done to allow law and enforcement agencies to easily gain access to data without performing painstaking decryption methods.
