With less than 10% of Indians knowing English, the Indian govt.’s lofty plan to take broadband to Indian villages might prove to be a hindrance in this exercise. To overcome it, the govt., in a meeting with officials from Google, Microsoft and Rediff, asked these email service providers to offer email addresses in regional languages.
