Aimed at promoting entrepreneurship at rural level and providing momentum to Startup India campaign in India, government will soon launch a scheme- Deen Dayal Upadhyay Swaniyojan Yojana.
Rural Industry ministry which is designing the programme will be backed by MUDRA Bank loans, innovative credit linkages and self-help groups that will provide self-employment options to the rural people.
Focus of the scheme will be to provide skill set training towards driving, plumbing, agriculture, dairy farming, grafting and horticulture.
“The scheme will provide the basic skill sets required for self-employment in various fields and thereafter we would provide credit linkages, incubation centres wherever needed,” a senior government official said.
The government will also discuss and map opportunities with private entities and individuals working in the startup space. The rural development ministry is also in talks with other government departments including textiles, animal husbandry and food processing to help the rural poor collaborate in setting up businesses across various sectors.
