Govt Launches DigiShala, a 24-hour TV Channel to Spread Awareness on Digital Payments

In an effort to promote digital payments in the country, the Ministry of Electronics and IT has launched a new 24-hour TV channel called DigiShala, which is aimed at spreading information and education, especially in rural and semi-urban areas relating to Digital Payment ecosystem, its tools, benefits, and processes.

DigiShala is free to air channel, managed by Doordarshan, and will run content produced by various govt departments, such as NITI Aayog, mostly talking and demonstrating about ways of digitizing various types of payments, explaining the usage of e-wallet, UPI, USSD, AADHAAR and usage of cards, among other things.

The channel is available through GSAT15 (DD Direct DTH), 93.5 degree East, Receive frequency: 11590 Mhz. The services will initially be available in Hindi and English and later in local languages as well.
