GroupnDeal is a tool for buyers that helps connect to fellow buyers. The idea is based on the fact that buying in groups can get you a volume based deal as it increases your bargaining power. The site allows one to find groups in a given location and date for a given product or create your own group. Users can join the group, discuss and then decide to meet offline and do a group buying. People are already doing this in niche forums, GnD is trying to make it more organized.
The site sure needs an overhaul in terms of UI. Also, the site requires you to register. I have always been of the opinion that once-in-a-while tools should avoid asking for one more registration if the data is hardly needed. Wouldn’t a Google connect or Fconnect suffice? Wouldn’t this be better if it can sit on your current social networking site as an app? The startup is currently looking only for pure ad based revenue but going forward they should look at lead generation and can have an e-commerce play as well like BuyThePrice.
Will the site be helpful? You decide!
