Interesting piece of advice on hiring and building the initial team (and DNA).

  1. Initially, hiring has to be Inbound. There was a very nice article by Gabriel Weinberg (DuckDuckGo founder) which unfortunately not available now. You have to make people find you with a reason to work for you. Also give preference to people with character and frequency of matching than skill.

  2. When you are in an industry which is totally different from the ones you have worked earlier, it gets tricky. You need people who have a better understanding of the industry – so skill matters in that case (even for the initial team). Atleast that’s what I have understood from my personal experience.
