Ravi Gururaj who heads Nasscom’s Product Council and earlier founded five technology ventures, is set to launch QikPod.

The startup which is yet to be launched has already received $9 million funding from Taiwanese manufacturer of Apple iPhones, Foxconn, Accel Partners, Flipkart and Delhivery.

Qikpod aims to help e-commerce players by easing the delivery process. The company will provide a network of fully automated, self-serve lockers in residential complexes, office compounds, cafes and kirana stores which can be accessed by courier and e-commerce companies and will help them achieve last-mile delivery. The operations will start from Bangalore.

QikPod plans to install 50,000 lockers across the country and will currently provide the service for free to consumers as well as for locations and sites that wish to install and host a locker. [source]
