Hackers make $5mn each from two Indian conglomerates!

A win for hackers again after two conglomerates paid $5mn to prevent from disclosing sensitive information to the Indian Government..

The break is assumed to have been made two-three years back and all the internal moves were traced. The company was asked to pay or lose the data to the Indian Government. The ransomware was made in the month of May and although the threat was not reported to the officials, the senior officials from Government’s  programme tracked the development. Cyber experts said both attacks were made through botnets.

The threat is said to have originated from the Middle East although no confirmation has been made yet. [source]
