Currently, educational institutes have no cost effective way of offering their classes live to remote students. Existing solutions either provide poor quality video or require intensive infrastructure (like Internet leased lines, VSAT etc.). Aurus Network enables HD quality videos at as low as 200 Kbps of bandwidth.
Most web conferencing tools available today have been designed for one-to-one or few-to-few kind of communication. However, corporates often require to conduct one-to-many or many-to-many communication (like webcasts of important meetings, training sessions etc.). Aurus Network provides a fully cloud based service to allow such communication.
The Bhopal based startup offers Virtual Classroom Solution and a cloud based HD video conferencing solution. Its products are used by educational/training institutes and corporates.
– With its Virtual Classroom Solution, Aurus offers internet based, live 2-way HD classes for connecting teachers with students across the country. As of date, Aurus has been successfully running a network of more than 10 teaching studios and around 100 classrooms across the country. Apart from offering live online classes, the Virtual Classroom solution also simplifies the otherwise cumbersome process of lecture capturing and online course content generation.
– Cloud based HD video conferencing solution allows users to have effective business meetings and collaborations. In addition to superb video quality at very low internet speeds (100 Kbps), it offers users unique features like (a) accessibility from any device (PC, laptop or tablets), (b) connecting 2 to unlimited locations in a single conference (along with one way webcasting), (c) adaptive bitrate streaming which changes video quality with internet speed fluctuations to offer smooth playback, (d) in-built video recording with video-on-demand access, (e) application & desktop sharing and (f) support for multiple displays.
How this works
Each Aurus Live Studio is powered by an Interactive HD Broadcaster, which is capable of capturing, compressing and streaming up-to 2 high-definition video feeds in real-time to our video streaming servers.
Companies servers are located in tier-4 internet data centers in cities including Singapore, New Delhi and Hyderabad. In order to support virtually unlimited simultaneous viewers, they maintain elastic servers which can scaled up or down instantaneously depending on the system load.
Aurus Network was founded by Piyush Agrawal, who graduated from IIT Kanpur with B.Tech-M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering in 2008 and later went to Stanford. While being at Stanford, Piyush developed a passion for making quality education accessible to the masses with the help of technology. Thus, he decided to drop-out of the graduate program and returned to India to start Aurus.
Current clients of Aurus Network include Career Point, Motion IIT-JEE, Edumass, Quest Tutorials, ACE Tutorials etc.
