Health And Fitness App HealthifyMe Secures $1M in Funding

Bangalore-based health and fitness app HealthifyMe has raised $1 million funding led by Neelesh Bhatnagar, a Dubai-based investor from NB Ventures. This is in addition to the $6 million, the company raised early this year from IDG, Blume Ventures, and Inventus Capital.

The startup plans to utilize the current round to hire top leadership and invest in product and tech innovation.

Founded in 2012 by Tushar Vashisht, Sachin Shenoy, Mathew Cherian, HealthifyMe is a health and wellness app that helps people lose weight through its programmes, which it claims are effective in the prevention of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. The app is a comprehensive database of more than 20,000 Indian food items, 1,000 activities and on-demand access to a fitness trainer, dietician/nutritionist and yoga instructor.

HealthifyMe was adjudged as one of the best ‘Made in India’ Apps of 2016, by Google Play.
