Helpchat, in order to drive app usage has started pushing news content as well.
Helpchat has also launched ‘chat with local business’ feature, which definitely gels with Helpchat’s offering – but news? Yeah you can try to be everything to everybody (and lose focus), but expanding in all possible directions is just the first step towards irrelevancy.
Of course, news does generate ‘instant app engagement’ (which helps show your investor that the app is engaging) and once the user opens the app, you can always bombard them with notification – but is that your real ‘mojo’? Is that why you exist?
Or is it totally driven by funding pressure? To drive numbers – by doing ‘whatever it takes’?
