Real estate search portal #housing.co.in has secured $2.5 million of funding from Nexus Venture Partners. This is the 3rd successful round of funding for the company after two smaller rounds earlier.
Housing.co.in was founded eleven months ago by a group of IIT Bombay students. There are at present over 30 IITians in the firm.
The company plans to use this round of funding to expand its technology and data sciences teams. The company is also building a large headquarters only for the technology team.
The Data Science Lab of the firm has developed features like area based pricing and society ratings.
Housing.co.in is a map based product that actually maps out the details of the property. It not only geocodes the property, but everything else you’d like to know about the property, like pictures to rental, security deposit, details if furnished etc. It also gives information on the location like the amenities around it and other details overlayed on a map.
The company had raised an undisclosed Angel Round from a group of angel investors led by Zishaan Hayath, the co-founder of Chaupati Bazaar. The second round of funding came from former Network 18 CEO Haresh Chawla.
Just a few days back the company had announced that it would be expanding to Gurgaon, Pune and Hyderabad. It had begun operations with Mumbai listings.
