US-based home design startup Houzz, which is run by a husband-and-wife duo Alon Cohen and Adi Tatarko, has set up shop in India, roping in Babyoye founder Sanjay Nadkarni to head local operations.
The Pinterest look-alike privately held company, which is currently valued at $2.3 billion, operates an online service that helps connect people with homes to remodeling and decoration services.
The company’s India entry is part of its global expansion drive after it raised a $165-million round in October 2014. Houzz will be launching its India-specific website in the coming months.
