How Saathi, an Ahmedabad-based Startup is Making Sanitary Pad From Banana Fibre

The founders – three MIT graduates- say that rural women in India, don’t have access to sanitary pads, due to which, they usually use rag cloth and cotton, which are unhygienic. Saathi wants to change this by making pads using fibre from discarded banana trees, which are affordable and also degrades within 6 months and can later be used for compost and biogas.
Kudos to these women.
