After facing flak for hiking the fee structure at the premier institutes, the HRD ministry has announced that IIT students can now avail interest-free loan, with household income not exceeding Rs 9 lakh p/a. The proposal will cover students for a period of 5 years, including the integrated degree course and 1-year moratorium period.
