HTC One Priced at Rs 42,900

HTC has announced that the HTC One will be available in the Indian market at an MOP (Best Buy) of Rs 42,900/- from the end of this month.

The phone which was supposed to launch at the beginning of the month has seen major delays across the world as HTC tries to ramp up production and deal with shortage of components especially dealing with its ultra pixel camera.

The HTC One has several unique features including a distinct zero-gap aluminium unibody, HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe and HTC BoomSound and a new HTC Sense.

HTC has also tied up with Reliance Communications to offer 1GB of 3G data free for 3 months along with free sharing of unlimited text, music, pictures and videos through WhatsApp and Facebook for 3 months. Reliance 3G users will also get a free BigFlix subscription for 3 months that will enable them to watch the latest movies on the go without having to worry about any additional data charges.

It looks like all high-end smartphones are being launched at above Rs 40,000 these days. The HTC One will go up against the iPhone 5, the BlackBerry Z10 and also the Sony Xperia Z. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to be launched in the first week of May and will also most likely be priced above Rs 40k.

When we took a look at the HTC One, we were impressed but were hoping that the price would be under Rs 40k, to really gain attention from consumers.
