Entertainment streaming service Hungama.com has partnered with Warner Bros to distribute full lenght feature films through the Hungama Movies website, the company said. The new films acquired by Hungama include classics such as Gone With The Wind and newer movies such as The Dark Knight, the Harry Potter film series, and animated classics such as Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes.
Hungama already has tie ups with entertainment labels such as Yash Raj Films, T-Series, Big Entertainment, UTV Movies, Star India, Shemaroo, Ultra Home and Ananda Audio Video Kavitalaya.
The company currently has over 5000 film and video titles on the Hungama Movies.
“With the addition of the Warner Bros. library, we now provide some of the world’s best international films to our 50,000 plus subscribers,” said Hungama’s Chief Operating Officer Siddharth Roy.
Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Limited is primarily known for its music streaming service although it offers other forms of entertainment content such as videos. It launched a music streaming Android app in March and is backed by Intel Capital, the investment arm of chip-maker Intel.
Looks like a great deal of new content for consumers and new areas of growth for Hungama. Is the music streaming business getting too hot with little to gain & too many players?
