Ibibo ventures has launched TradusBooks.in, an online bookstore for India. Ibibo had earlier launched Tradus.in, which was an online market place, much like Ebay.
Tradusbooks has nothing better compared to the existing biggies like Flipkart or Infibeam. They currently claim to have 20K books across all genres. The site’s UI is decent and things seem to work as expected. Though, being in an ecommerce play of standardized products one has to depend a lot on Google for traffic and here the site takes a beating. The SEO is losely done with little efforts on some of the common things like internal linking and tagging.
On the price point they have a upper hand as of now with a 30% discount + Free shipping on all books.
All said, coming from Ibibo’s stable the traffic shouldn’t be a problem for Tradusbooks as they have lots to spend on marketing. Tradus.in has some decent traffic and similar can be expected of Tradusbooks.
They have a strong belief in paid marketing as compared to free media. This is validated from the fact they have started an SMS campaign even before a formal Press Release.
Do give TradusBooks a spin and share your views. With the launch offer of 30% discount you might get some decent deals.
