Ready-to-Cook Food Manufacturer ID Fresh Foods Secure INR 35 Crore Investment From Helion Ventures

IDBangalore based maker of ready-to-cook food products, ID Fresh Foods, have secured an investment of Rs 35 Crores from VC firm Helion Ventures. ID Fresh Foods who are the makers of idly batter, chutneys and semi-cooked parottas and chapattis currently sell their products worth Rs 7 Crore every day in Chennai , Hyderabad, Mumbai, Mangalore, Mysore and Dubai.
The fund will be utilized to scale up to 30 varieties of ID food products and be operational in 30 cities in the next five years.  To cater to the Indian diasporas, ID is also planning to start exporting food products to foreign markets in the next 6 months.
With the increasing number of working men and women, the need for ready to cook food, which tastes like home-made food, has increased. ID aims to cater tasty, fresh, hygienic and moderately priced food products to this segment. ID products are also priced more than unbranded food products in the same category.
ID retains its freshness by manufacturing the food products overnight and distributing them to vendors through their delivery network.
Previously, Sequoia Capital had invested over $4 million in Best Foods Enterprises, a company which sells ready made food in India.
