iimjobs.com, a job board for mid-senior level positions has raised an undisclosed amount from One97 communications, India Venture Partners, Pallav Nadhani, Abhishek Rungta, Anand Lunia/Shailesh Vickram Singh (Seedfund), Sachin Garg and others.
iimjobs built a slow-yet-steady growth model where they did not charge any money for putting up the job ad or even to apply for the open positions. And in this process, the company built a curated set of seekers and has expanded its reach to 200,000 job seekers. Launched in 2008 as a side project, it has grown significantly and carved out a niche for itself in a relatively competitive and mature online recruitment market and was earlier backed by The Morpheus.
The funds would be used for developing the platform and building a customer facing team. The company is ramping up the engineering team to build tools to help recruiters and jobseekers find each other.
“The recruitment marketplace is completely broken and we are trying to fix it. Nobody really cares about the jobseekers. Online Recruitment companies just try to capture resumes which they could sell to recruiters. We are not in that business”, said Tarun Matta, founder of iimjobs.com.
