IIMs Slash CAT Score Weightage to Attract Non-Techies

Instead of written exam scores in CAT, the premier institutes will focus more on personal interviews, in an effort to increase the number of non-engineering students. Earlier, the weightage given to personal interviews was 40%, which now has gone up to 50%. The goal is to increase the diversity in the classroom, where engineers account for 90-95% of the student population.
