IIT-Bombay students can now complete their B Tech programmes in three and a half years instead of four.
The offer will be optional and students who want to complete the course early and will be allowed to take up additional credits.
The final plan has not been decided yet but students can in the final semester can opt for internships or start their entrepreneurial venture or spend a semester abroad in student exchange programmes.
After completing the course, students will be allowed to sit for placements and can join the company from December.
IIT Kharagpur also plans to implement the plan from the 2017 batch.
