Google has gone the offline route to promote Chrome in India. The company has put up full page advertising on both Times of India and Economic Times newspapers.
Browser War in India
Take a look at the latest figures from Statcounter – IE’s market share is slipping, Firefox is stable and Chrome is going up at a rapid rate.
Google just needs to push the envelope and get more share of the browser market and going offline seems to be the logical route. Though it’s quite an irony that an Internet company advertising on print about an ‘Internet’ product, but then this is India and that’s why we have a few firsts (like Google’s first print campaign for search was in India).
Update: It seems Chrome even had hoardings in Noida.
