Indians aren’t a happier lot and the country has moved 4 points down from 118 to 122 in the global happiness index (Pakistan is at #80).
Norway has jumped from 4th place in 2016 to 1st place this year, followed by Denmark, Iceland and Switzerland in a tightly packed bunch.
All of the top four countries rank highly on all the main factors found to support happiness: caring, freedom, generosity, honesty, health, income and good governance.
Factors that make a happy nation.
The primary six factors are GDP per capita, healthy years of life expectancy, social support (as measured by having someone to count on in times of trouble), trust (as measured by a perceived absence of corruption in government and business), perceived freedom to make life decisions, and generosity (as measured by recent donations).
The top ten countries rank highly on all six of these factors (report link).
Why do you think Indians aren’t a happy lot? Too much of social media (and negativity from media/politicians)?
