India is now the third-largest wearables market after US and China – IDC

As per IDC, India’s wearable gadget market grew at 30.9% and recorded 3 million shipments in the second quarter of 2019. This exponential growth ensured that India became the third-largest market for wearables after the US and China.

This surge can be attributed to the growing popularity of ear-worn smart wearables including true-wireless earbuds. These earbuds grew at 374.9% annually overtaking the sales of other wearables like fitness bands and activity trackers.

Wireless Earphones accounted for almost 56% of the total sales while wrist bands and smartwatches accounted for 35.2% and 6.9% of sales, respectively.
