India Ranks 3rd in Global Tech Startup Exits

According to the US startup database CB Insights, Indian startups witnessed 86 mergers and acquisitions (M&A), making it the 3rd in global tech startup exit activity. With 857 M&A/IPOs in the first six months of 2016, US leads the list, followed by the UK, which had 135.

The report said that of the 1,590 exits globally in the first half of 2016, 72% of the companies didn’t raise VC or PE money prior to exit. In India, 28% of the overall exits were of mobile ventures, the highest among the top 5 countries.
