ICANN recently approved the XXX domain (for Adult entertainment industry) and the government will seek to block the XXX domain.
India along with many other countries from the Middle East and Indonesia opposed the grant of the domain in the first place, and we would proceed to block the whole domain, as it goes against the IT Act and Indian laws.
When asked if the same sites, continue to provide access under the .in and .com domain, the official added that “for such cases the ministry would proceed on a case to case basis” [source]
Given that government wants to control Internet (India To Have an Internet Kill Switch) and earlier blocked Savita Bhabhi (which resurfaced as Kirtu Bhabhi), do you think blocking XXX domain makes sense?
The reality of the matter is that you cannot control porn and one has to laud ICANN for realizing that (too late ?) and make Internet a seggregated place for those looking for adult content.
