Indian authorities stop export of 27,000 Vivo phones at New Delhi airport

India’s revenue intelligence unit is detaining the cell phones at the airport in New Delhi due to an apparent discrepancy in the models and values of the devices.

The shipment is around $15 million in value. The government agency’s actions were described as “unilateral and preposterous” by an industry lobbying group.
