117 Indian Government websites Hacked [Till June 2011]

As per the information tracked and reported to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) at total of 90, 119, 252 and 117 Government websites were hacked in the year 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 (till June) by various hacker groups.

This information was given by Sachin Pilot, the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.

And most importantly, Indian government should bring ethical hackers as consultants (read: Research Reveals 56 Percent Rise in Cost of Cybercrime [Opportunity For Ethical Hackers]), in order to ensure security of the data.

Sadly, with no luck so far.
