Indian govt considers live phone-based TV without internet

  • The government is looking at the viability of direct-to-home (DTH)-style live TV broadcasting on mobile devices without a data connection.
  • Through a technology known as D2M (direct-to-mobile), mobile phone users will be able to watch TV on their devices in a manner similar to watching TV over a cable or DTH connection.
