Ajay Kumar from Mumbai filed a query asking the government if it was ready for a zombie apocalypse. He goes on to ask if an invasion by “Alien Zombies” and “Extra Dimensional Beings” can be handled without involving Hollywood actor Will Smith.
On its part, the RTI office replied back saying, “It is observed that in the application you [Ajay Kumar] have not sought any specific information that is available in the Ministry of Home Affairs. You have raised questions/queries on some hypothetical situations and sought the view/legal opinion of the ministry on the issue.” It also said the information sought does not fall under the purview of the RTI Act.”
While Kumar’s offbeat RTI query has the whole social media cracking up, he, however, says this wasn’t meant to be a joke. “It may sound funny, but this was a protest..I filed the RTI as an act of political protest against the entire intolerance fiasco,” he says. Kumar says that he wanted to waste a public official’s time as a form of revenge.
