Internet firms too come under security clearance net
The Government has extended the restriction on buying equipment from Chinese vendors to Internet Service Providers (ISP) as well as Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) service providers .
The Government has also decided to impose a fine of Rs 50 crore on any operator, including mobile players, on whose network any spyware or malware is detected by security agencies.[more]
3G Auction – Day 26
Day 26th and after 148 clock rounds, 3G auction has touched Rs. 54,000 crores. Mumbai leads the race, followed by Delhi (pdf from dot site).
The key point in Monday’s auction was Gujarat slipping into the negative demand zone after remaining on the radar of bidders for quite some time. Kerala, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Jammu & Kashmir also witnessed the same fate.
Indian Railways Crowdsources Logo
As per Livemint, Indian railways has crowd sourced its new logo and the winner will get a prize money of Rs. 5Lakhs.
Last week, a small advertisement in national dailies revealed that the Indian Railways was looking for a new logo to replace the existing one. It essentially solicited competing designs with the promise of Rs5 lakh to the winner
