List of Indian startups that made it to the Startup Chile program

clip_image004A few months ago we had covered a list of few start-ups that were selected to be a part of the prestigious Startup Chile program. This time a fresh list has been announced and yet again there are a few start-ups from India that have made it to the list (though not all mentioned below have been purely bred and born in India – a few either have Development Centers’ in India and a few have been started by Indian’s abroad.)

Imaginate.in
Hyderabad based Imaginate is an Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) based technology enterprise, which offers innovative visualization products and services which enhance the consumer experience of reality. The service, TRIALAR is an intelligent digital apparel and jewellery trial room cum marketing platform, which is built on AR technology.

Foodkhoj.com
FoodKhoj is an online food delivery portal that allows you to place an order online, for the food of your choice from different restaurants that deliver to your area. The site has been specially built for college and MNC campuses and has covered most of them in Bhubaneswar and Goa.

Touristlink.com
Nagpur based Touristlink.com, GoTripIndia Pvt. Ltd., is the social platform for travel where you can meet fellow travelers, share information, suggest new attractions and create lists of your favorite destinations to share with friends.

GrabHalo
GrabHalo.com though based out of Palo Alto has an India connect, a development center in India. Their twitter handle describes them as ‘grabHalo is neither a site nor a product. It’s a movement to unite people from every corner of the globe’. The site is presently under construction and will be out in beta soon. The product will allow users to connect with each other, from anywhere in the world through a few simple clicks.

Credool.com

clip_image010Ditto for Credool. Though the company is registered in US, its founders are Indians. Founded by brothers Rudradeb and Soumyadeb Mitra, the application is a big relief from remembering passwords. Credool lets you login to any website from any device of your choice using your mobile phone as an authentication key. Just download the app on your mobile, save all your usernames and passwords one time on the same and login using your mobile authentication key from next time onwards.

According to Start up Chile India is among the top five most frequently represented countries in the program. Other top countries include USA, Chile, Argentina, the United Kingdom, Spain, Canada and Uruguay. Budding entrepreneurs are also coming in from China, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Venezuela.
Startup Chile mentions that about 20 per cent of the whole lot of start ups selected for the program include E-commerce companies, followed by IT & Enterprise Software, and Social Media and Social Networks, which comprises of 16 per cent and 13 per cent of the total selections, respectively. Remaining categories include Healthcare & Biotechnology, Education, Energy & Clean Tech, Finance, Media, Mobile & Wireless, Natural Resources, Social Enterprise and Tourism.

The program provides startups with US$40,000 of equity-free seed capital, and a temporary 1-year visa to develop their projects for six months, along with access to the most potent social and capital networks in the country.
