Indian startups make it big on Red Herring 100 Asia 2007

Red Herring 100 Asia 2007The Red Herring 100 Asia award ceremony is on Aug 29-31, 2007 in Hong Kong. For the last decade, these lists have discovered & short-listed the most promising start-ups in the technology industry, and are highly regarded by investors, executives and observers alike.

The Top 100 award winners will be announced at the ceremony, but the 200 short-listed companies have been announced here.

I’ve identified 28 Indian companies (nearly 15%) that have made it to the finalists. Considering the list identifies companies that will lead the next wave of disruption and innovation, some names are obvious – like iXiGO, Paymate & Onyomo; while the majority of the names lead me to doubt the shortlisting process itself – like GlobalLogic, WEP Peripherals,

Following is a list of the Indian companies that have made it to the 200 finalists.

Congrats all, and wish you luck for bagging the award 🙂
