Online real estate portal, Indiaproperty has raised $12mn in Series B funding, led by Bertelsmann with participation from existing investors Canaan Partners and Mayfield Fund.Indiaproperty

The company was founded by Murugavel Janakiraman who also founded Matrimony.

The online real estate industry in India has gained steam over the last few months (Commonfloor raised $7.5mn, Housing has raised funding too). Indiaproperty offers property marketing solutions serving builders, real estate agents and home owners to sell or rent their properties, while offering an interface for property buyers to search and identify properties that match their requirement.

Post this funding, Pankaj Makkar, Managing Director of Bertelsmann India Investments will join Indiaproperty board.
