India’s first solar observatory mission Aditya-L1 set for imminent launch

Aditya-L1 will study various aspects of the sun including coronal heating and solar upper atmospheric dynamics.
The observatory was named Aditya (‘sun’ in Hindi) and later renamed Aditya-L1 to highlight its broad scope.
The launch follows the successful landing of India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission on the moon’s south pole.
