India’s national survey authority flags Google over app presenting incorrect Indian map

  • The Survey of India (SoI) issued a notice to Google, criticizing the WorldMap Quiz app for inaccurately depicting Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh’s boundaries.
  • This is not the first time digital platforms have been admonished for improper maps of India; previously Twitter and WhatsApp faced similar scrutiny.
  • In response to the notice, the WorldMap Quiz’s creator, Qbis Studio, has rectified the map in the app.
