Go-Jek, the Indonesian ride-hailing startup has acquired Bangalore-based online marketplace for home healthcare services Pianta, a move aimed at bolstering the company’s foray into the healthcare sector. GO-JEK operates food, grocery, and even courier delivery services.
“GO-JEK is moving to launch an on-demand healthcare product which might have delivery and logistics’ issues. This is where Pianta’s forte is,” said Sidu Ponnappa, Managing Director, Go-Jek Engineering India.
Pianta was founded in 2015 by Swaminathan Seetharaman, Ganesh Subramanian and Nitin Agarwal, as a marketplace to discover and book appointments with healthcare providers who provide home visits for physiotherapy, nursing and lab sample collection.
